Spring has officially sprung, and I for one could not be more excited. No more doldrums treadmills, no more worrying about slipping on ice patches, and plenty of company on the trails. If you’re looking for a way to kick off your spring training, Equinox is hosting a free instructional strength training class on Monday at 7:15 p.m. at their Lincoln Park location (1750 N. Clark Street) for CARA members. (Not a CARA member? Check them out and join their fabulous network, the largest in the city, here.)

If you are a CARA member, RSVP here for strength training exercises, a core workout, and a short nutrition info session, all designed to help you “Revive, Revamp, and Refuel” your training plan. You’ve got free reign of the gym to work out before or after as well if you sign in at the front desk upon arrival.

And if you CARA members can’t make it on Monday, they’re also hosting a Vernal Equinox Party on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with special offers, exclusive spa treatments, and refreshments for you and a guest. And if your guest joins, you get a $250 gift card. Pretty sweet deal, and both events are a great way to kick off the start of spring running season in Chicago!
