South Shore Metra Train Hits 2 People



    Metra South Shore Electric trains were seriously delayed Tuesday evening after two people were hit by a train at 75th and Exchange.

    Two men were trying to beat the train across the tracks when they were hit, according to witnesses.  One man has died.  Another was  transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition.

    At 5 p.m., Metra said no trains were operating between Stoney lsland and South Chicago 93rd Street, and it did not know how long the outage would be. CTA buses are honoring Metra tickets in the area, Metra said.
