Four people were slain in three shootings Thursday night on Chicago's South and West Sides, police said.

A 27-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were shot about 9:40 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Van Buren Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Tribune.

About 10 minutes later and more than 11 miles away, another teen was gunned down, and an hour later, a 22-year-old man was found shot and killed outside his North Austin home.

On Wednesday night, 8 people were shot within an 80 minute period. One woman died in that stretch of violence.
