    After another night of intense weather, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been canceled across the Chicago-area. 

    The watch, which included DuPage and Cook counties, was called off approximately half an hour before it was set to expire. 

    McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, and Kane counties were originally part of the watch, but have since been removed. 

    Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for DeKalb County and Kenosha County issued earlier in the evening have been allowed to expire, but thunderstorms continue to be a threat in some areas.

    High winds are moving out ahead of the storms, ranging from 35 to 40 mph sustained speeds and gusts of up to 50 mph. 

     

     

    Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail were expected with the storms. 

    Temperatures will stay warm even after the storms roll through, with highs forecast in the upper-80s and low-90s on Friday. Conditions will also be very humid, with heat index readings rising into the upper-90s in some locations.
