Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Semi in Geneva

Crash closes Geneva intersection for hours

A Geneva intersection was closed for several hours Wednesday morning as authorities investigated a deadly motorcycle crash.

A semi-truck and motorcyclist collided around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Kirk Road and Fabyan Parkway, Geneva police said. The rider was thrown from his white sport bike, which ended up about a mile away from where the rider was pronounced dead.

There are no reports of injuries to the driver of the semi truck, which immediately pulled over to the side of Kirk Road, police said.

Traffic had to be detoured around the area for the rest of the morning rush hour. Kirk was closed in both directions between IL-38 and Fabyan.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
