Spokeswoman Joelle McGinnis says the agency's board chairman asked the tollway's inspector general Thursday to do the review so the public can know the project wasn't "manipulated" in any way.
Among other things, Blagojevich is accused of linking work on the construction project to political contributions from a contractor.
McGinnis says Tollway chairman John Mitola has no doubts about the program, but wants to assure the public everything is square with a review.
The tollway also is looking to hire a new chief.
Tollway chief Jeffrey Daileyresigned Wednesday after less than a month on the job. Dailey wanted to pursue other jobs.
