Chicago Destroyed in Upcoming Video Game

Chicagoans, so often spared in disaster movies like "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Armageddon," can now experience their own city’s fictional demise.

A new video game shows Chicago destroyed by a massive earthquake and leaves the player to survive the aftermath.

A trailer leaked on YouTube for “I Am Alive,” shows buildings crashing, cars smashed and giant holes opening up in city streets.

The title from Ubisoft was actually announced back in 2008, but the project hasn’t been advertised since.

The sudden release on youtube got the attention of bloggers.

"It looks fascinating, and has the potential to be a game that offers something incredibly new," wrote Geoff Calver of Kombo.com.

The release date is set for spring 2011, no word yet on what game system it will be released on.
