The Chicago Bulls made Zach LaVine the centerpiece of the Jimmy Butler trade last summer, but could there be a possibility that they could lose him this year?
According to Bulls reporter KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, there is at least one team that’s going to try to make a run at LaVine: the Sacramento Kings.
LaVine, who made $3.2 million in his first season with the Bulls, is a restricted free agent, meaning that the Bulls can match any offer made to him by another team. The Kings currently have the fifth-most cap space in the NBA, according to Spotrac, with $24.6 million in space going into the offseason.
It’s unclear how much the Kings, or any other team, will offer LaVine, who was shut down in April after suffering a knee injury. LaVine appeared in 24 games for the Bulls, averaging 16.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest.
