Lucas Giolito's no-hitter earned Facetime with Eddie Vedder originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
It seems to be a bit of a White Sox tradition: You throw a no-hitter, you get to talk with a celebrity.
No postgame call will ever touch the chat Mark Buehrle had with President Barack Obama after his perfect game in 2009. But music fans will still be in awe of who rang up Lucas Giolito after the most recent no-no on the South Side last summer.
Giolito did an AMA on Reddit, and a fan asked who his most famous celebrity congratulator was in the wake of the 19th no-hitter in club history.
"Eddie Vedder," Giolito replied. "Got to Facetime with him for a few minutes, it was so cool."

The lead singer of Pearl Jam is an Evanston native and a big baseball fan, but he's best known for his allegiance to the team on the other side of town, often spotted at Wrigley Field during the Cubs' playoff runs of recent vintage. What was he doing chatting with the White Sox ace?
Well, consider it a step toward Chicago baseball unity. That or Vedder's ready for the changing tides of Chicago baseball, with the White Sox poised to be the bigger contender in town.
The only way for Giolito to top the call from Vedder? Going full Buehrle, of course. If Giolito can go 27 up, 27 down, maybe he, too, will get a call from the world's most famous White Sox fan.
