Stroman supports expected universal DH addition originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
Count Cubs starter Marcus Stroman among those in support of adding a universal DH to Major League Baseball.
Commissioner Rob Manfred met the media at the quarterly owners meetings Thursday in Florida, reiterating the owners' support for implementing a universal DH through ongoing labor negotiations.

"We've agreed to a universal designated hitter and the elimination of draft pick compensation," Manfred said.

The league's next collective bargaining agreement has long been expected to include the universal DH. MLB implemented one during the shortened 2020 season but played under traditional National League rules in 2021.
Stroman, who's 9-for-89 in his career, tweeted satisfaction with his offensive résumé and looked back on some his highlights, which include a stolen base and a home run.
Even with a universal DH, Stroman appears ready to contribute offensively for the Cubs if needed.
