Here's a fun twist in the Bears' ongoing QB competition: according to reports, the team is flying in a new QB for a tryout sometime mid next week:
Fine played four years at North Texas and put up some pretty big numbers while he was at it. In 49 career games, he threw for 12505 yards and 93 touchdowns while completing almost 63 percent of his passes. While size is a concern – Football Reference lists him at 5'9, 195 lbs – the 23-year old was the only two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma during high school and finished his career at North Texas as one of the program's all-time passing leaders:

Don't get too excited, though – if the report's true, it's a move meant for the roster's QB3/practice squad spot, currently held by Tyler Bray. It's notable, however, that Bray's job security may be in question for the first time since he came to Chicago back in 2018, a move largely made because of his familiarity with Matt Nagy, dating back to their time together in Kansas City.
