The Cubs Have Printed World Series Tickets

The Cubs are the best team in the National League. This is a true statement and not one of opinion. The Cubs match up will with every potential playoff opponent the NL has to offer and should be overwhelming favorites to go to the World Series this year. That's slightly more opinionated, but I think a lot of people would agree with that statement. The Cubs have printed up World Series tickets. That's a statement that seems innocuous, but in the world of October baseball in Chicago, it's anything but.

Richie Rich at Home Run Derby has pictures of 2008 World Series tickets for the middle games of the series, which would be played at Wrigley should the Cubs win the NL. This happened last year, too, because, well, that's what happens. Teams print up tickets for all the playoff series and sell them. It's nothing unusual or jinx-ifying at all. Of course, I'm not going to try and tell that to a Cubs' fan.

It's time to brace yourselves. The Cubs are in the playoffs with the best chance to go to the World Series that they've had in a long time. Until they either win said World Series or are eliminated from the playoffs, EVERYTHING you see EVERYWHERE is going to be a potential jinx for the Cubs. I mean, every single time before this year that a major political party nominated a femaie for vice-president, the Cubs choked terribly in the NLCS. Coincidence? You tell me!
