White Sox Reinstate Tim Anderson, Demote Dylan Covey

Anderson had been on the Paternity List after the birth of his daughter

The Chicago White Sox have made a series of roster moves, including sending pitcher Dylan Covey down to Triple-A Charlotte.

Covey, who has allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in two relief appearances this season, had a solid spring for the White Sox, posting a 2.45 ERA in seven Cactus League appearances. He couldn’t quite translate that into success at the big league level, and the team will hope he can get things straightened out in Charlotte.

The White Sox also reinstated pitcher Ian Hamilton from the 10-day injured list and sent him down to Charlotte.

Finally, the White Sox reinstated shortstop Tim Anderson from the Paternity List after the birth of his second child earlier this week in Chicago.

The White Sox will next take the field on Friday when they welcome the Seattle Mariners to Guaranteed Rate Field for the club’s home opener. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
