White Sox Postpone Home Opener Due to Rainy Forecast

The White Sox will open their home schedule on Friday instead

The Chicago White Sox have officially postponed their home opener on Thursday as heavy rain is expected throughout the day.

The White Sox were set to taken on the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon at Guaranteed Rate Field, but with rain in the forecast, the team has pre-emptively postponed the game and moved it to Friday.

The game will start at 1:10 p.m., according to the team, and all tickets and parking passes fans purchased for the contest will be honored at the rescheduled game.

Any fans planning on attending Friday's game will be allowed into the ballpark beginning at 11 a.m., and are encouraged to be in their seats by 12:15 p.m., as the team will hold an opening ceremony for the 2019 campaign. 

Fans are encouraged to have their tickets downloaded onto their phones through the MLB Ballpark App, StubHub, or Ticketmaster, prior to arriving at the ballpark.
