Cubs, Brewers Engage in Hilarious War of Words on Social Media

The teams will play in Milwaukee on April 5, but they're already having fun on social media

Baseball still isn’t set to begin for another two months, but the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers are already battling it out on social media.

The two teams engaged in a war of words over the last week, with both sides landing some solid jabs in the trolling battle.

It all started earlier this week, when the Brewers posted an image of a Wisconsin license plate that read “H8CUBZ:”

The Cubs, social media savvy as they are, responded with a witty retort of their own:

“The first step is admitting your best-performing content is Cubs content,” the team said.

Four days later, the Brewers responded to that remark, and they used some newfound acquisitions to burn the Cubs:

“How’s this for some ‘content?’” the Brewers responded. The tweet featured images of two new acquisitions the Brewers made, with outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich starring in the message.

While the Cubs themselves didn’t respond to the latest Milwaukee dig (working on an acquisition of their own, perhaps?), their mental skills coach Darnell McDonald did:

“Winners focus on winning, losers focus on winners,” the picture caption read.

The two teams will take their social media feud to the field when they play in Milwaukee on April 5, the first game of the season between the clubs.
