Olympic Hall of Famers to Inspire Chicago Kids

Seven Olympic Hall of Fame inductees will inspire Chicago kids

Olympic Hall of Famers will converge in Chicago July 12 to inspire future athletes.

Just before being honored at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, seven Hall of Fame inductees will share their experiences and lead coaching drills at "Pave the Way," a sports clinic to engage aspiring athletes and celebrate the honoring ceremony.

The event hosted by World Sport Chicago and Allstate Company offers nearly 100 kids an opportunity to interact and learn from U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame inductees through knowledge on what it means to be an Olympic athlete.

Hall of Fame inductees will work alongside World Sport Chicago scholarship recipients who will serve as coaches during running drills.

Among the inductees scheduled to attend the event are: 1996 Olympic gold medalist Dan O'Brien, three-time Olympian Kristine Lilly, three-time Paralympian Jean Driscoll, and 2004 U.S. Olympic Women's Softbal team members, Lovieanne Jung, Stacey Nuveman Deniz, Leah Amico and Jenny Topping.

The event will be held at Pulaski Park the morning of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.
