While Russian President Vladimir Putin has faced widespread criticism from the West for his support of pro-Moscow Ukrainian separatists blamed for downing a commercial jet, Russian media is telling a different story. One Russian TV piece challenged a widely-circulated clip of a Buk missile battery supposedly being hurried to the Russian border after the shootdown, saying that the serial number on the truck matches Ukrainian army equipment. Deputy Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin said social media and the U.S. have acted as judge, jury, and executioner before the facts are known: “Just like Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction!"
