Al-Qaida in Yemen: Leading Member Killed by U.S. Airstrike

One of the leading members of al-Qaida in Yemen had been killed by a U.S. airstrike on Jan. 31, the group said Thursday, Reuters reported. The strike also killed three other al-Qaida militants, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said in statement posted on Twitter. Sheikh Harith bin Ghazi al-Nathari was on AQAP's legal committee and served as an adviser on legal and religious affairs, the statement said. AQAP claimed responsibility for last month's deadly attack on France's Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine in Paris.
