The city of Zion may have a for sale sign up on their City Hall building.
The city wants to sell the building to help alleviate its budget crisis. There is a possibility that the northern suburb will privately sell City Hall along with surrounding property to Paul Graffia, a convicted felon, according to Sun-Times.
Graffia was approached by the Zion leaders about buying the building because Zion cannot afford the up keep of the obsolete city hall, according to the Sun-Times. Negotiations have since stalled.
City Council voted to change the property zone next to the building from residential to commercial. The building is not listed for public sale.
