Viral Sensation ‘Yodeling Walmart Boy' From Illinois Gets Surprise on ‘Ellen'

An 11-year-old yodeling sensation from Illinois who went viral after his performance in a Walmart appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” show Tuesday.

Mason Ramsey, of Golconda, was recorded tapping his cowboy-boot-clad toes and belting out “Lovesick Blues” by country legend and noted yodeller Hank Williams Sr. He talked about first travelling on an airplane and riding in a limousine on his way to visit DeGeneres.

“Mason says he’s a true country boy and back home he typically builds bales of hay and takes naps under a tree with a weed in his mouth,” a statement from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” said.

He said he has dreams of performing at the Grand Ole Opry and is saving money to attend college.

DeGeneres surprised him by telling him he would perform at the famed Nashville venue Saturday. She also surprised him by telling him his local Walmart in Harrisburg would host a “huge concert” for him which would be streamed on Facebook.

What’s more? A $15,000 to put toward college from Walmart.
