A north suburban woman is facing felony charges after allegedly striking a former roommate with her car after the two argued at a McDonald’s restaurant in Zion.
Starr Peet, 33, of the 2900 block of Falling Waters Drive in Lindenhurst, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic battery, both felonies, according to Zion police.
About 2:30 p.m. Monday, police were notified of a pedestrian being struck in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at 2008 Sheridan Rd. Zion Fire/Rescue treated the 39-year-old victim, “who was alert and talking,” a statement from police said.
She suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville as a precaution, police said.
Peet, who was the driver of the car, remained at the scene, and told police she and the victim formerly lived together and had agreed to meet at McDonald’s, police said.
“An argument took place and the victim was struck as the driver of the offending vehicle backed out of a parking space,” the police statement said.
Peet was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday in Waukegan, but information was not immediately available.
