One lucky lottery player in the city of Chicago has a ticket worth nearly $1 million in their pocket.
According to the Illinois Lottery, a winning ticket worth $950,000 was sold in the city on Thursday. The ticket was the winner in the Lucky Day Lotto drawing, which was conducted Thursday afternoon, and was the lone winner of the jackpot prize.
The winning ticket was sold at a Citgo gas station in the 8200 block of South King Drive in the city’s Chatham neighborhood.
The Illinois Lottery encourages the winning ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket immediately, and to keep it in a safe place until they turn it into one of the state’s five lottery prize centers.
