A woman was listed in stable condition Friday morning after being stabbed several times in Chiacgo's Wicker Park neighborhood.
The woman, thought to be in her 20s, left a nightclub in the area with a man shortly after 2 a.m. They were approached by a man and woman yelling gang slogans from their vehicle, Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information.
The two pair began to fight on the 1500 block of North Damen Avenue and the woman who'd left the nightclub was stabbed in the torso and back, Greer said.
Her attackers later drove off.
The injured woman walked to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, but was later taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with non-life-threatening injuries. Her male companion was not injured.
Ages were not available as of early Friday, but everyone was thought to be an adult.
No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
