Temps Soar in Time for Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend temperatures expected to rise into the 90s

As Chicago comes back to life after the NATO Summit, so does summer weather.

With Memorial Day weekend fast approaching, barbeques and beaches will give Chicagoans needed recovery from summit disruptions.

Though showers are anticipated on and off through the weekend, NBC Chicago meteorologist Andy Avalos predicts sunny temperatures will rise into the 90s.

Summer-like conditions come in time for Chicago’s 26 miles of lakefront beaches to open for the season starting Friday. As always admission is free, and beaches remain open through Sept. 3.

Leading up to the weekend, Chicago sees Tuesday temperatures hovering in the low to mid-60s along the lake, but predicted highs soar to the 80s by Thursday.
