Wanted: Hummer Bandit

FBI looking for conspicuous robber

The FBI is looking for your help to find the "Hummer Bandit."

The agency is trying to track down a man wearing a hat and sunglasses who robbed a suburban Joliet bank and reportedly escaped in a purple Hummer SUV.

So much for incognito.

Other than a big grape-looking, gas-guzzling, getaway vehicle, here are some other clues released by the FBI.  The "Hummer Bandit" is reportedly a white male, about 40 years old, 5'10", heavy build, dark hair, side burns and a mustache.

Witnesses said on February 2, the robber went into the Standard Bank and Trust Bank, approached the teller and asked for change.  The teller asked for an account number and was handed a threatening note that demanded cash. The teller put the cash in a black computer case and the robber walked out of the bank.

That's where the purple Hummer comes in, which witnesses said was used as the escape vehicle.

Chicago FBI and the Joliet Police Department are investigating the case.
