5-Year-Old Shot in Englewood, Chicago Police Say

The child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital

A 5-year-old boy was shot and two adults were stabbed during a domestic incident in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood on Friday night, authorities say. 

According to police, officers heard gunshots in the 6700 block of South Parnell at approximately 7:18 p.m., and when they arrived on the scene, they discovered a boy who had been shot in the leg. Two adults, a 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were also stabbed in the arms during the incident, according to authorities. 

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Both adults were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they are also listed in stable condition, police said. 

Authorities have taken two suspects into custody in connection with the case, according to officials. 

A preliminary investigation of the incident revealed that a domestic incident occurred at a residence in the 6700 block of South Parnell shortly before the attack. 

A full investigation into the incident is ongoing.
