Jake Arrieta is back at Wrigley Field Tuesday—an emotional day back in a city he once called home.
“Just being in this ball park is really special,” Arrieta said.
The former Cubs pitcher, who signed with the Phillies in 2018, reminisces winning some of the biggest Cubs games in history,
“It’s just really cool to come back here,” he expressed. “Spent a nice off day walking around the city, down in Millennium Park, spent an hour or so at Cindy’s in the rooftop….went to one of our favorite dinner spots.”
Arrieta also mentioned that he was able to reconnect with those he had not seen in a while.
“Spent some time with people here that we used to see quite often,” he added. “I think more emotions will come up and arise as, you know, game time approaches, the fans start to file into the stadium, people kind of shouting my name and maybe bring in something up from the past...to kind of relive all that for the fans and kind of hear their comments…it will be emotional but obviously for a good reason.
