‘The Simpsons'-Themed Bar Opens in Lincoln Park

Diehard fans of the legendary TV show “The Simpsons” may never know where the town of Springfield is actually located, but those in the Chicago area will be able to enjoy one of the sitcom’s most legendary establishments.

That place, “Moe’s Tavern,” will actually be in Chicago this week, as Lincoln Park bar REPLAY transforms itself into the famous tavern where Homer Simpson and his friends ham it up with owner Moe Szyslak.

To celebrate the occasion, REPLAY has plenty of Simpsons-themed attractions to draw in customers. Whether it’s Duff Beer, famous for being the drink of choice for Homer and company, or their own version of the Flaming Moe, a special concoction that briefly gave the fictional tavern a massive spike in business, fans of the show will find plenty of things to entice them to come into the establishment.

The bar will also feature classic Simpsons arcade and pinball games during the week, as well as free Duff Beer koozies for devoted fans. The decor in the bar is also Simpsons-themed, featuring photos of Bart, Moe, and a host of other Simpsons characters.

The set-up will remain in place through Halloween, according to the bar’s website.

The bar opens at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at 3 p.m., and at noon on Saturday and Sunday, and closes at 2 a.m. all days except Saturdays, when they stay open until 3 a.m.
