South Side Fire Claims One

One person died in fire on Chicago's South Side Wednesday morning and two others jumped to safety, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Chicago firefighters rushed the two other people to University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.

The fire broke out around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday on the second floor of a home at 5113 Aberdeen Street in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. Firefighters saw flames when they arrived on scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Firefighters struck out the fire at about 6:20 a.m.
