Skokie Police Looking for Man Who Tried to Lure Boy Into His Car

Police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to lure a child into his car in suburban Skokie on Thursday afternoon.  

The incident took place at approximately 4:15 p.m. when an 11-year-old boy was walking home from Fairview South School. As he was walking in the 5000 block of Estes Avenue, he was approached by a man in a vehicle.

When the car pulled up to the child, the man inside yelled out “if you want to call your mom, get inside the car,” according to police. The child fled the scene and reported the incident to his parents.

According to Skokie police, the man, who is of Middle-Eastern descent, had a light brown complexion, a beard, and black and grey hair. He looked to be approximately 40 years of age, and was driving a dark colored four-door sedan.

The man fled northbound on Laramie Avenue towards Touhy Avenue, according to police.
