A Special Mother's Day, Times Four

Four little bundles of joy arrived for a Downer's Grove couple Wednesday, just in time for Mother's Day.

Amy and Pete Lambert gave birth to quadruplets at Good Samaritan Hospital -- the first set of four babies ever delivered there.

Ava Eileen, Kaitlyn Bernice, Maggie Grace and Finnegan Ryan were all born just after 8 a.m.

The babies were all healthy, but will be cared for at the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit until they're big enough to go home.

"This Mother’s Day the best present I could have gotten was to add four more children to our family," Amy said. The couple already has a 2-year-old son.

The Lamberts conceived through artificial insemination -- and knew they might have multiple babies. But mom said she was "absolutely in shock" when she learned she'd be having quadruplets.

They converted their dining room into baby central, with changing stations, bassinettes and bouncers for four. And they're in the midst of looking for a bigger car.
