Police ID Victims Killed in Buffalo Grove, Reveal Suspect is Woman's Ex-Husband

A man and woman killed in a double-fatal shooting in Buffalo Grove have been identified as police revealed that the suspect in their deaths is the woman's ex-husband.

According to authorities, 55-year-old Nataliya Ermak and her husband 69-year-old Roman Frid were fatally shot in a parking garage in the northern Chicago suburb Sunday evening.

Police on Monday identified a 64-year-old suspect in the shooting as Anatoliy Ermak, who they later revealed is the ex-husband of Nataliya Ermak.

Further information on what may have sparked the shooting was not immediately released, but police were planning to hold a press conference on the incident just before noon Tuesday.

The deadly shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in a parking garage at 150 Lake Boulevard.

The victims’ bodies were found roughly three hours later, when a resident discovered a man and woman near a vehicle with blood on the ground and alerted authorities, police said.

Anatoliy Ermak, who should be considered armed and dangerous, might be driving a white, 2019 Nissan Versa hatchback with Florida license plate KCFK75, police said. Ermak might be staying at hotels in the Buffalo Grove area, according to an alert from Buffalo Grove police.

Investigators previously said they believed the shooting was targeted, and there was not an active threat to the community.
