Death of Drew's Ex No Accident: Autopsy

Body of Peterson's third wife bruised and battered

The notion that Kathleen Savio, the third wife of Drew Peterson, accidentally drowned in a dry bathtub in her home was always difficult to believe.

Now, a new autopsy shows her death was no accident and that she struggled with her killer in 2004. Peterson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in May of this year. The couple had been going through a bitter divorce and Savio's family has said she feared for her life.

The second autopsy, performed in November, reportedly indicates that 40-year-old Savio  had bruises on her arms, legs, abdomen and buttocks, acccording to CNN, and her head bore a one-inch cut. The first one determined it was an accidental drowning.

Peterson, a former Bolingbrook police seargent, is in the Will County Jail awaiting trial. His attorney says he will disprove the allegation in court.

Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, disappeared in October 2007. She has not yet been found and Peterson is considered a suspect in her disappearance.
