A woman says cars are rushing passed school buses in Palos Heights—and now police are keeping an eye out.
A resident shared video of cars passing the school buses at high speeds in the 7300 block of College Drive. Deputy Chief David Delaney told NBC 5 the police department takes this issue very seriously.
“As soon as we found out that there was a problem, we sent officers to monitor the situation,” he said. “We haven’t had any violations as of yet.”
Eren Evers video she took of cars blasting past a bus while her sons were dropped off at Palos east Elementary School.
“I was shocked,” she said. “He was just flying.”
She said it’s dangerous to even pick up your mail at the curb.
Police continue to monitor the area, Delaney said.
