Fred Hoiberg has only been the coach of the Chicago Bulls for a few weeks now, but he already knows that it’s a good idea to get in good with sports fans in the Windy City.
To that end, Hoiberg attended the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night at the United Center. The team featured him on the video board during a stoppage in play, drawing sustained applause from the fans in the arena.
When the Blackhawks won the game and tied the Stanley Cup Final at 2-2, Hoiberg further endeared himself to fans by referencing a classic movie that featured the Blackhawks prominently:
