The annual rankings of best hotels across the nation were announced on Tuesday, and two Chicago hotels topped the list.
Although the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii ranked No. 1, The Peninsula Chicago ranked No. 2 and The Langham Chicago placed third, according to U.S. News & World Report.
“Each hotel's place in our rankings takes into account the aggregate opinion of published travel experts and the overall customer satisfaction expressed in online guest reviews provided under license by TripAdvisor,” the site states. “The highest-ranking hotels are typically those that both experts and users recognize for their exceptional quality.”
The report said a total of 2,194 hotels in the U.S. were ranked.
The top 10 in Illinois, after the Peninsula and Langham include:
Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (No. 3),
Waldorf Astoria Chicago (No. 4),
Park Hyatt Chicago (No. 5),
Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago (No. 6),
The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago (No. 7),
Virgin Hotels Chicago (No. 8),

The rankings are calculated based on components such as Awards & Recognition, Hotel Class and Guest rating.
