Naperville Hotel Robbed at Gunpoint

No one in custody as of midday Saturday

An armed robber got away with cash in an early Saturday morning heist at a Naperville hotel.

Officers were called to the Days Inn Hotel, at 1350 E. Ogden Ave., shortly before 2 a.m., according to a police report.

The clerk told police that a man walked into the hotel, showed a small semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash.

The clerk said he handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber ran off, heading southbound through the parking lot on foot.

Officers and a K-9 unit from the Lisle Police Department assisted but no one was in custody as of midday Saturday.

The clerk said the robber was a white man in his mid-20s who stood about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighed about 175 pounds. He had a scruffy beard and was wearing a dark coat, dark sunglasses, and a knit hat, the report said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Investigations Section of the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6726 or the Naperville Crime Stoppers Hotline at 630-420-6006.
