More Than 16,000 Without Power in Kendall County: ComEd

More than 16,000 ComEd customers were without power Wednesday night, the energy company said.

The outages began in the evening and might not be fixed until 10:45 p.m., Oswego police said. A ComEd spokesperson, however, said there was no estimation of when power could be restored. They said the outage is due to a line down and a pole fire in the 1000 block of Route 31 in Oswego.

Crews were on scene and some cusomters were slowly getting their power back, the spokesperson said.

"We are aware that the power is out in many areas of town," the police department tweeted. "Many resources are trying to figure out the cause and Com Ed has been notified."

The city of Yorkville also tweeted a similar statement saying there was a "large power outage" impacting its residents as well as in neighboring Montgomery.
