All Metra Union Pacific North trains were halted for several hours on Saturday evening after a train struck a vehicle near Lake Forest, Metra confirmed on Twitter.
According to the Metra website, train #817 reportedly hit a car before 5 p.m.
It wasn’t immediately known if anyone was inside the vehicle, or if anyone sustained injuries.
Service had resumed as of 8:30 p.m. Saturday, however delays were still expected.
