Metra to Start Taking Credit Cards

Buying tickets is about to get easier for train commuters in Chicago.

Stations in downtown Chicago -- Ogilvie, Millennium Station, Union Station, Van Buren Station and LaSalle Street Station -- will start accepting credit card next month, Metra officials said.

Earlier in the year, Metra rolled out a new Web site that allowed riders to buy tickets online, but only if bought far enough in advance to be delivered by mail.

But starting in mid-January, ticket agents at five stations will be equipped to take credit and debit cards. In February, outlying Metra stations will also start taking credit cards.
