The man allegedly followed the girl from a bus as she walked to school

A 22-year-old man is facing felony charges of criminal sexual assault and kidnapping after he allegedly assaulted a girl who was walking to school in suburban Burbank on Monday.

According to police, the girl had just gotten off of a Pace bus and was walking to St. Laurence High School when the man threatened her with a gun and brought her to an alley, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

After working with various organizations, including the CTA, Pace, and St. Laurence High School, police apprehended 22-year-old Chicago resident Marquise Myles and charged him with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated robbery, and kidnapping, all of which are felonies.

A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while she walked to school Monday in southwest suburban Burbank. NBC 5’s Dick Johnson has the latest.

Myles was apprehended as he reported to work, according to police.

Video surveillance purportedly showed Myles walking up behind the victim and force her into a nearby alley.

Myles will next appear in court Friday on a bond hearing at the Bridgeview courthouse. According to police, he was currently on parole after being convicted of possessing a firearm after a previous felony conviction.
