Man Charged With Murdering 3 Teens

The possible gunman in the triple-murder of three teenagers last Friday on the South Side was charged Thursday afternoon, the Sun-Times reported.

All three teenagers were shot around 3:15 p.m. Friday during a dispute in the street near East 87th Street and South Exchange Avenue, authorities said.

Martin Ybarra, 20, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, according to the Cook County State's attorney.   The murder suspect, who lives in the 8300 block of South Buffalo, was arrested Tuesday after several witnesses identified him.

An assault rifle that may be linked to the murders has also been recovered, police said.

Ybarra was ordered held without bond.  His next court date is March 17.
