I'm not usually one for theme parties, but even I have to admit that this has piqued my interest.
According to MenuPages, next Friday begins Hip Sip, a special theme night held at ristorante we in the W Hotel – City Center.
Ristorante we is a steakhouse "with a Tuscan flair," and because it's inside the W, you know it's sleek and chic. Every Hip Sip evening (no word yet on how often the event will recur) will have a theme. The first one goes retro, centered on the '60s. While Helen Rosner at MP says this means "fondue, deviled eggs, and three-olive martinis," I think it'd be fun to see mini-pigs in blankets being served amidst the restaurant's elegance.
In case you ladies want help looking the part as you sip on your Emma Peel, there will be make-up artists on hand to bring out your inner Audrey Hepburn.
This blast from the past is set to take place Friday, October 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. General admission is $25; $35 includes a gift bag. For more information, call 312-332-1200.
