Local Leads: 3 Arrested, 2 Killed, 1 Stabbed

Alsa appearing on the police blotters and headlines in the Chicago area Tuesday are the following:  

  • $10,000 Reward Offered for Alleged Gang Member -- The FBI has posted a reward of up to $10,000 for an alleged member of the Latin Kings street gang sought on drug charges.
  • 'Debonair Bandit' Arrested in Atlanta -- A serial bank robber known for his well-dressed, dapper appearance was arrested Tuesday in Atlanta, the FBI says.
  • Cops: Drunk Driver Repeatedly Rammed Car  -- Police say they aren't sure an intoxicated driver even knew he had hit another car several times in suburban Lombard.
  • Police: 2 Dead in West Side Crash -- Speeding may have been a factor in a car wreck that claimed the life of two men and left two others seriously hurt early Tuesday in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
  • Alleged Cop Impersonator Accused of Rape --  A Cicero man accused of impersonating a police officer as he raped a woman in her Chicago home two years ago is slated to appear for a bond hearing today.
  • Three Charged in Stabbing of Cop -- Three people have been charged in the Monday stabbing of a Chicago police officer on the West Side.
  • Pizza Deliveryman Shot On South Side -- A man who was trying to deliver pizza was shot during an attempted robbery early Tuesday on the South Side.
  • Teen Killed in Shootout After Robbery -- Two Chicago men face criminal charges in connection with a robbery attempt that turned into a shootout which left a Chicago teenager dead in northwest Indiana.
  • Des Plaines Bank Robber Sought -- The Chicago FBI office has released surveillance camera photos of a man who robbed a TCF Bank branch in Des Plaines the day after Christmas. | Image
  • Pinched Cord Blamed for Fire that Killed Siblings -- A fire in a West Side home Sunday that resulted in the deaths of an elderly brother and sister who were scheduled to move into an assisted living residence the next day was likely caused by a pinched electrical cord, preliminary investigation shows.
  • Cheese Truck Overturns on Borman Expressway -- Firefighters worked to unload 43,000 pounds of cheese from a semitrailer truck on the Borman Expressway well into the morning hours today after the truck hit a barrier and rolled over Monday night.
  • Man Fatally Shot on Southwest Side -- A private contractor driving a truck and plowing snow in a parking lot of a car dealership near the Western Avenue address thought a man he saw fall had slipped on the ice.  It turns out that he was shot.
  • Robber Returns to Church After Heist --   Federal authorities say an Aurora man left a church, robbed a bank, then returned to the church.
  • Bail Set for Two Men in Drug Bust -- Derrick Harden, 41, of 1300 Wilson Ave., Chicago Heights, and Michael Morgan, 29, of 6226 S. Kimbark Ave., Chicago, were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance early Sunday in the 1500 block of Wallace Avenue, police said. Harden also was charged with criminal fortification of a building.
