Hundreds of Ecstasy Tabs Seized from Bellwood Home

Brandon Floyd, 26, being held on $100,000 bond

A 26-year-old Bellwood man is being held on $100,000 bond on drug and firearm charges following his arrest Wednesday.

Sheriff’s police say they found more than 600 ecstasy pills, two loaded handguns and other items in the west suburban home of Brandon Floyd.

Floyd, of the 1100 block of South 31st Avenue, was arrested after the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Gang Unit searched his home and found drugs and guns, along with cash and various drug paraphernalia, according to a Cook County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Floyd was charged with possession of between 600 and 1500 pills of ecstasy, a Class X offense; possession of cannabis between 30 and 500 grams; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a firearm without a valid firearms owner identification card; and possession of ammunition without a valid firearms owner identification card, the release said.

Floyd's next court date is set for April 7 at the Maywood courthouse.

This is the second ecstasy seizure in Maywood announced by the sheriff’s office this month. On March 9, Gang Unit investigators arrested Brandon Cribbs, 25, of the 500 block of South 6th Avenue in Maywood after finding 33 ecstasy pills at his home, the release said.

Cribbs was charged with possession of between 15 and 200 pills of ecstasy, a Class X offense, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
