Rent prices in several cities—including Chicago—have dropped within the span of a year, according to a report, despite a rise in prices across the U.S.
According to apartmentlist.com, Chicago made the list of a handful of cities where prices in rent dropped—just under 1 percent from this time last year.
The cost of an average 1-bedroom in the windy city is now $1,067 a month.
Apartment List calculated rent growth rates by looking at year-over-year changes using rent data collected from information acquired by the Census through the American Community Survey, which included large multifamily buildings and single-family homes.
