Man Accused of Rape, Assault While Holding Women Captive for Days in Indiana: Court Docs

Court documents say a northern Indiana man raped a female friend and held her and two other women captive for as long as five days because he was angry that the friend was telling others that he had shot at someone.

Thirty-one-year-old Derrick Glass of Elkhart faces one count of rape, three counts of criminal confinement, two counts of battery, all while armed with a deadly weapon, plus four counts of pointing a loaded firearm at someone. He remained held Saturday on $1 million bond.

The Elkhart Truth reports Glass is accused of drugging, raping, and assaulting the friend and forcing her to sleep naked on the floor next to him from April 28 through Tuesday.

One other woman also was held five days and one for one day.

Elkhart Police Sgt. Chris Snyder said Glass threatened them all with a handgun and assaulted two of the women with it. No shots were fired.

Glass was arrested Tuesday after he allowed one of his alleged hostages to go shopping. She reported the situation to police.
