DePaul Aiming for CBI Title As They Take On South Florida

The DePaul Blue Demons are aiming for a tournament title on Friday night as they battle the University of South Florida in the final game of the College Basketball Invitational.

The Blue Demons lost the first game of the three-game series on Monday night, but bounced back with an overtime victory on Wednesday at the McGrath-Phillips Arena in Lincoln Park. On Friday they will once again take on the Bulls in the winner-take-all contest, and they hope to bring home a trophy for their fans.

A win on Friday would do more than just capture a tournament title for the Blue Demons. It would also clinch their first 20-win season since the 2006-07 campaign, and would be the 24th 20-win season in school history.

The Blue Demons will once again need a big game out of Max Strus, as he plays his final collegiate game. He has been playing some tremendous basketball as of late, and had 32 points and three rebounds in Wednesday’s Game 2 victory in Lincoln Park.

Sophomore forward Paul Reed also had a huge game, with 28 points and 16 rebounds for the Blue Demons as they extended their season by one more game.

The game will start at 6 p.m., and can be seen on ESPNU.
