Jay Cutler revealed in an interview this week that he has done couples therapy with his wife and former reality TV star Kristin Cavallari.

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, just one day after his seventh season with the Chicago Bears came to an end, Cutler talked about being a dad and revealed how couples therapy helped him “start seeing things differently” and “deal with stuff.”

Cutler acknowledged that the quarterback that came to Chicago in 2009 likely wouldn’t have admitted such things, but he said he’s “thankful” he’s gotten to that point.

The Bears quarterback recently welcomed a new baby girl, named Saylor, into the world, giving sons Camden, 3, and Jaxon, 1, a little sister.

Cutler talked about being a father, and the excitement that came with the birth of his new daughter, but said it was also a difficult time for his family as Cavallari was dealing with the loss of her brother, who was found dead just weeks after Saylor’s birth.

As for how Cutler would react if the Bears draft a quarterback in the spring, he said he would “totally get it” and would help whoever the team brings in. He noted, however, that he would hope the team will pick “somebody who can help me right now.”

The team ended the 2015 season Sunday with a 6-10 record, losing their final game to the Detroit Lions.
