Nearly 200 Flights Canceled at O'Hare on Monday

What could be historically bad weather for the East Coast on Monday helped cancel nearly 200 flights at O’Hare International Airport on Monday.

While the not all of the cancellations were weather-related, "some" were directly a result of weather on the East Coast, according to the city’s Department of Aviation.

Midway was not experiencing any delays Monday morning but had canceled fewer than a dozen flights, the department said.

The blizzard expected for several states on the East Coast is expected to drop anywhere between 18 to 24 inches of snow between Monday and Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

Snow totals for Sunday in Chicago came in just under an inch at O’Hare and a quarter of an inch at Midway.

More than 105 flights were canceled Sunday night at O’Hare, some also related to the bad weather.
